Art show inaugurated in Vijayawada

Commissioner of Police D. Gautam Sawang on Thursday said that the paintings of South Korean artist Jeong Ja Seo reflect the capacity to heal and purify the mind and spirit.

Mr. Sawang inaugurated the Art Show of Seo at The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) here. After going through the array of paintings by Ms. Seo, Mr. Sawang appreciated her works.

“Her works portray meditative space and acknowledge the healing power,” he said later. The founder and chairman of CCVA said that Ms. Seo represents the Korean Fine Arts Association and her art works balance the imbalanced world.

He said that Ms. Seo is on an art Residency Programme as part of the MOU entered between Korean Fine Arts Association and CCVA.

CEO of CCVA Dr. E. Sivanagi Reddy said that as many as 21 acrylic artworks on canvas are displayed in the show that will be open until September 6. Ms. Seo said that her works represent the value of time through multiple colours depicting the timeless landscape where the wind flows on old cities. Ms. Seo later presented her art book ‘Art is Life’ to Mr. Sawang. The show will be open from 10 am to 7 pm daily.
